Need a quick reference for heritable diseases in dogs? Visit AVARís "The Guide to Congenital and Heritable Disorders in Dogs" at www.envirolink.org/arrs/avar/dog_gen.htm

This simple one-page site, based on the work of Dr. Jean Dodds, offers a list of canine breeds followed by a list of common congenital disorders and heritable diseases. Canine breeds are followed by a series of numbers that cross reference with a list of diseases.

For example:
From the breeds list: Antarctic husky: 103, 147.
Related conditions from the diseases list:
103. Entropion: An abnormal rolling in of the eyelid.
147. Hemophilia A: A blood clotting disorder due to deficiency of coagulation factor VIII
(this is the most common type of hemophilia in dogs). (See #121.)
