New flavors pass the 'taste' test
Detroit News, January, 2002
Spot and Tiger can now benefit from sixteen new veterinary flavors of oral medicines.
Flavorx, a Bethesda, MD based comapny is offering pet-friendly medicinal flavorings,
at more than 400 vets and veterinary pharmacies.
All are reported to carry the FDA stamp of approval.
The new flavors include such tempting tastes as crispy bacon and grilled tuna (yum!).
This just might put and end to stuffing a pill in a hot dog or cheese just to be spit out by discriminating canines
and felines.
REMEMBERING BUDDY
Presidential Pet is killed in car accident
Los Angeles Times January, 2002
He sat in the Oval Office at meetings where Cabinet secretaries vied for his affections and
some of the world's most powerful people threw his tennis ball. When his human, ex-president
Bill Clinton was in a surly mood, aides would coax the chocolate lab to his side, knowing the affectionate pup could always cheer him.
We watched him grow up, tease the cat and fetch his toys.
Buddy's presidential reign ended with the Clinton move to Chappaqua where he could be just another
puppy with a past. While Clinton traveled Buddy stayed with a valet. He was playfully chasing
a contractor and ran into the street when he was hit by a car.
This month Buddy was memorialized with a statue on display at the Clinton Presidential Library
preview collection at the Cox Building in Little Rock, AK.
